I love Daft Punk. As far as electronic music is concerned, I'd consider Daft Punk to be my first love. Before I stumbled on Daft Punk's AMAZING Homework album, I was kind of a hip-hop purist. I was super into Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Jeru the Damaja, Lootpack, Doom, Dilla, Outkast…I had this mindset that rap music was the only type of music out there that was real, you know. I also wasn't into German rap…although it was kinda omnipresent at that time here in Germany. I even wore a bloody Wu-Tang chain when I got pictures taken for my driver's license…that's the level of realness I'm talking about here!😂

Anyway, when I went into my favourite record store at that time, the store owner was like…"dude, check this out…I know you're into hip-hop and stuff but you NEED to check this out!!! Trust me!"...and he handed me this black LP with this iconic red logo on the front and I was like "yo, this looks sick, dude!"...put it on the turntable, popped on these ridiculously big headphones and.. wow…I was like "What on earth is this?!" Sat there and listened to the whole LP in one go…when Da Funk came on, it was…I don't know…like an epiphany or something! That was the moment I fell in love with the music of Daft Punk!

Ok, I'm waffling on a bit, aren't I? Let's talk about the PO-33 kit, then, shall we? So, for this PO+33 kit, I created a bunch of Daft-Punk-type one-shots, drum loops, vocals, as well as a couple of synth loops and stabs.

Kit specs:

  • 116 BPM
  • Emin
  • Chord progression: Emin7, Dmaj, Amin, Bmin/Cmaj7
  • 4 Loops
  • 14 Drum hits
  • 4 Synth loops
  • 1 Synth sound
  • 1 Bass sound
